We are proud to share that Medical Aid and Advocacy for the Vulnerables Foundation’s World Diabetes Day medical outreach in Ondo East Local Government Area was recently featured in a newspaper report highlighting the impact of the programme on rural communities in Ondo State.

The article captured key moments from the outreach, including the large turnout at the Bolorunduro Civic Centre, the free diabetes screening and medical consultations provided to community members and the foundation’s commitment to follow up care for patients with critically high blood sugar levels. It also highlighted the involvement of secondary school students and the educational component of the programme, which focused on both health awareness and academic motivation.

The feature recognized the efforts of our medical team and partners, as well as the importance of bringing healthcare services directly to underserved populations where access is limited. It also reflected on the broader implications of community based health interventions and the role of youth led organizations in addressing public health challenges.

Media coverage like this helps amplify the voices of the communities we serve and draws attention to the urgent need for sustained investment in grassroots healthcare initiatives. It also encourages collaboration between non governmental organizations, community leaders and public institutions to improve health outcomes across Nigeria.
